This is a terrific opportunity to promote, market and organize a very innovative popular theater/performing arts/education tool called "Runway Peace Project", created by the Women of Color Resource Center. The Runway Peace Project (a play on "Project Runway") organizes pro-peace, anti-war fashion shows across the nation. Looking for a way to raise awareness about militarism, gender, occupation and what we can do about it? Host a fashion show & educate your community ...with style! RPP is a multimedia toolkit that examines the powerful influence of U.S. militarism on popular culture. RPP brings together designers, performers and activists in a powerful expression of resistance and hope.
We have the tools and the materials-- all you have to do is outreach to campus organizers, make arrangements for the fashion show and help them to support them to run the show! This is a very unique and creative project that needs young, creative, innovative energy. To Apply: Send your resume and letter of interest to mroberts@coloredgirls.org with Runway Peace Project in the subject line.
Please note that the dates of this internship are flexible and can be arranged with the Program Director.
